Colin Archer780 viewsThe big double-ended ketches designed by Colin Archer were designed for rescue work among the Scandinavian fishing fleets in the North Sea. They justly became famous for their superb sea-keeping qualities. This model offers you the possibility of owning a detailed scale replica of a classic sailing vessel, which also has a realistic performance on the water.

Trafalgar_chuntering_on_surface.jpg
Trafalgar class submarine.768 viewsJust like the real boat, the model Trafalgar class is not really happy on the surface. But pump in ballast and she slips below into her true element.

Trafalgar_Diving.jpg
Trafalgar diving.765 viewsPump in ballast and down she goes. She will run beautifully under water, fast, level and stable. Unfortunately, she defied all attempts to photograph her doing so! All my attempts produced lovely pictures of areas of open, empty, water. But that's the point of a submarine really. Underwater, they can be very hard to detect.

HMS Solebay 3752 viewsOn the water she has a lively and convincing performance, and is a complete delight to run.

victory1.jpg
HMS Victory749 viewsNelson's famous flagship needs no introduction. With her complex hull form, three decks of gun ports, intricate rig and ornate decoration, she is one of the most complex and demanding wooden boat model projects possible.
anna.jpg
Anna746 viewsThis steam launch model was modified from the basic kit, according to our client's instructions, to provide improved access, fuel pre-heat, and improved engine contol. She exemplifies the creative teamwork that our bespoke service offers, between the client's specifications and our craftsman's service.
This particular client owns a number of steam launch models, ranging from the small and pretty, as here, to the large and magnificent. He says that while he greatly enjoys the sight of a big and spectacular model on the pond, he probably gets the most fun from this little boat, because she is so easy to carry, and such a simple pleasure to sail.

Bounty (wreck... saved!)745 viewsYou'd never believe this fine model was rescued from the horrible bundle of sticks in the previous picture!

galahad6.jpg
Sir Galahad721 viewsThe model recently had its mechanism refurbished, and is shown here still going strong, over twenty-one years from the date it was built. A good scale model really does last well.

Complete_Deck_Detail_View.jpg
Small Colin Archer; deck detail720 viewsEven on a small display model, we try to get the detail right. It's surprising how many models show the sails hoisted and the lines coming down to a pin rail or cleat and cut off there. Imagine you're on the real boat. You go to lower a sail. You cast off the rope; the end vanishes up the mast...... that's why pin rails, as here, have the bights of the ropes coiled down and hanging from them.
